Commuter 34 Adriatic Blue

Sale price$630.00 USD

Unapologetically understated yet striking in appearance, the Commuter (Ref. 7232) is an all-around sport watch designed to be the perfect companion for any occasion. But don’t let its good looks deceive you — with a 100 meter depth rating and a scratch-resistant exterior, the Commuter has been engineered to perform in even the harshest of conditions.

HARDENED STEEL

All of our watches are made from 316L surgical-grade stainless steel. This typically measures 200HV on the Vickers hardness scale; however, after our signature hardening treatment is applied, we are able to achieve a hardness rating of almost 1200HV. With this additional protection against the typical scratches and swirls that otherwise occur all too often during the rigors of everyday life, you can wear our watches without worry, using them like the robust tools they’re intended to be.

SAPPHIRE CRYSTAL

Cut from synthetic sapphire and measuring 9/10 on the Mohs hardness scale, the Commuter’s crystal is virtually impervious to scratches. Colloquially referred to as a “box style” crystal, its design is reminiscent of the plexiglass crystals that graced watches from a bygone era. This particular sapphire crystal also boasts a thick layer of clear anti-reflective coating on the underside — eliminating glare for easy reading even under direct sunlight.

THE DIAL

The somewhat minimalist dial is adorned with a striking yet subtle sunburst pattern that is expertly brushed into the base plate. The faceted hour markers are meticulously filled with Grade A BGW9 Swiss Made Super-LumiNova and then delicately applied by hand with maximum precision.

THE HANDS

The multi-faceted diamond-cut hands slope up on either side and then taper off to a flat plane with brushed finishing (all done by hand!), creating a subtle visual effect that is pleasing even when not consciously registered. Filled with Swiss Made BGW9 Grade A Super-LumiNova, the strong luminescence makes for easy reading even in dim light.

THE CASE

Understated yet robust, the Commuter sports a scratch-resistant case hewn from surgical-grade 316L hardened stainless steel. Serving as a testament to our commitment to the smallest of details, you’ll enjoy observing the way light dances around the polished chamfers that highlight the transitions in finishes. The case’s design is further elevated by the ever so slightly convex nature of the mirror polished mid-case, with sides that bulge out just enough for the discerning wearer to appreciate how every detail has been meticulously considered.

THE BEZEL

The fixed bezel features two complimentary brushing techniques. Sunburst brushing on the top gently teases the eye, while the mirror polished sides offer a distinctive finish that matches the overall refined aesthetic.

THE CROWN

The crown screws down snugly and smoothly into the side of the Commuter’s 100M water resistant case thanks to a decoupling mechanism that prevents it from winding the movement while being screwed down. A high-polished chamfer separates the coin-edged portion from the embossed TRASKA logo on the outermost surface.

THE MOVEMENT

Automatically wound by the motion of the wearer, the Japanese Made Miyota 9039 caliber oscillates at 28,800 beats per hour and will keep on ticking for decades. A 24 jeweled, two step, hand-windable movement with hacking, the 9039 is a true no-date movement. Introduced by the Japanese firm as an alternative to the Swiss Made ETA-2824, one could argue that the high-beat 9039 caliber is actually technologically superior to its Swiss counterpart thanks to its 42 hour power reserve and slimmer profile.

All of our movements are regulated in four positions for enhanced timekeeping tolerances. This process involves manually adjusting the length of the mechanical movement’s hairspring, fine-tuning it to keep even better time than what their manufacturer advertises. After regulation in four positions, the 9 series will typically run between -10 to +20 seconds a day.

THE BRACELET

Forged from 316L stainless steel and tapering from 19mm to 15mm, the bracelet’s solid and fully articulating links echo designs from the Swiss bracelet purveyor Gay Frères. Made with a rigorous lifestyle in mind, the robust bracelet has undergone the same proprietary hardening process as the case. Precisely machined from stainless steel, the buckle exhibits polished chamfers on either side. The inside of the clasp is painstakingly hand polished with a perlage finish — because even the smallest of details matter. The buckle’s five micro-adjustments and the removable link’s large flat head screws allow the bracelet to be sized to your exact liking with ease.

TRAVEL CASE

Our genuine leather travel case stays true to the utilitarian nature of the TRASKA brand. We value form; but not at the expense of function. Even when traveling light is a necessity, this leather pouch is small enough to go with you and ensure the safety of your timepiece. This isn’t packaging that will gather dust in the closet — it’s an elegant yet practical accessory you’ll want to travel with wherever you go.

Comfortable, versatile, worry-free watch

"This is the most expensive watch I’ve bought, so it was a kind of leap of faith ordering online, but I’m happy to say that it’s more than paid off. Ordering and shipping was a breeze, and the watch in hand fits even my <6 inch wrist! The scratch resistance is real: it’s still in pristine condition after 3 weeks of regular wear, and I’m literally wearing it daily on a holiday as I write this, with the peace of mind that i can wear it from the pool to the shower to a nice dinner, knowing it won’t get scratch and, as an added bonus, it also won’t scratch my young daughter when I carry her. Zero regrets with this purchase."

Very nice watch for a very fair price

"I gave this watch to my daughter who is very happy with it. The only regret is that the quick adjustment of the bracelet does not exist on the 34 version but I had not seen it. Otherwise beautiful watch, shock resistant and very beautiful dial. My daughter loves it!!"

FAYOL (5/5)

"I very much like the understated elegance. It is not loud and at beautiful at the same time. Also like the hardness coating. I put my watched through the paces and this one is holding up pretty good. Would prefer some lume on the seconds hand. That is just a personal preference."

Buy this watch

"Greetings all. I used to be a collector of modestly priced vintage watches. I got out of that game years ago. I am getting married soon and wanted to wear a watch I could pass down for the ceremony. My Commuter 34 in Adriatic Blue has been on my wrist for about a month and I love it. I absolutely love it. It's a sold piece that can last a lifetime. Refined. Simple. Elegant. Fully recommend. I might buy another. I love the Adriatic Blue and hoping in the future there will be another blue option similar to the Summiteer that I can buy also."

More than you'd think.

"This is the watch that you would have bought in 1960s or 1970s, brought up to today's standards, minus the Swiss decision to abandon the middle class. Don't be beguiled by brands making expensive styling exercises. This is the unabashed homage, yes in style, but more, to a whole mindset of a certain time. And it's their customer service as well. If you value quality over status, care over profits, and a watch that fits you rather than the other way around, then this is the watch for you. Full stop. I have been collecting for over 30 years and there is no other brand out there that does it quite this well."

Where Refinement Meets Endurance

"While I had my eye on the Commuter for some time, it took a setback to give me the nudge I needed to finally make the purchase. With a 7. 5-inch wrist, I opted for the 38mm Commuter in Adriatic Blue, and the size feels exceptionally well proportioned. The execution is impressive: a beautifully boxed sapphire crystal, finely finished hands, crisp applied indices, and a bracelet that feels thoughtfully engineered. Even the crown action is remarkably smooth and precise, reflecting the attention to detail behind the piece. After wearing it for a couple of months, I decided to put it to the test and wear it exclusively on my trip to Iceland. It was on my wrist as I hiked through storms in the remote Westfjords, warmed up in the hot springs of the Highlands, and spent multiple days navigating unpredictable rain, wind, and snow. I walked on glaciers, crossed lava fields, and visited some of the most striking waterfalls in the country. The same watch that felt perfectly suited to those conditions transitioned effortlessly a month later when I wore it to a wedding. It carries itself with equal confidence in both settings. Looking at the Commuter now, it marks a period defined by forward movement, exploration, and a renewed sense of resilience."

Great watch

"I bought 34mm and 36mm Adriatic Blue this time. I had a Rolex Oyster Perpetual 41 and Datejust 41, but I let it go. I've been looking for a watch to replace it, and I was a candidate for Christopher Ward, Monta, Grand Seiko, etc. , but I was curious because I found Traska and it was very highly rated. I was worried about whether the quality would be good because of the low price, but I really liked the design, so I took the plunge and bought it. The first impression when it arrived was a word of surprise. Why can you make a watch of this quality at this price? I was impressed. If you look closely, there are parts that are superior to Rolex, but it is no exaggeration to say that the quality of the case and dial is higher than Rolex. I don't understand the meaning of buying a Rolex anymore. Traska seems to be my lifelong partner. I will continue to buy it. The real thing is much better than what you see in images and videos. If you spend money on images and advertisements, you will have to raise the price of the watch itself, so you probably won't do that. It is wonderful to actively incorporate such an attitude and user requests. The clock in the image is 36mm"
